Victoria MN is 4th Fastest Growing City in Minnesota!
Carver County ranked number three in a study of the happiest counties in America, up from number four in 2015. Stable families and a strong economy are noted as key factors to overall well-being. Smart Asset, a financial technology company, used a population filter to rank positive and negative factors that include rates of unemployment, poverty, marriage, bankruptcy, life expectancy and physical activity. Communities in Carver County enjoy low rates of unemployment (3.7%) and poverty (4.4%), and a high marriage rate (62.7) and life expectancy (81.4 years).
According to the Huffington Post, interpersonal relationships are perhaps “the single most important driver of happiness and family relationships are most important of all.” Marriage and divorce rates were considered to gauge family stability. All of the counties ranking in the top 25 for happiness had marriage rates over 50% (the approximate average marriage rate in the U.S.).
The study noted that with Carver County’s high quality of life, it’s no surprise that its population has been growing. The Census estimates that Carver County’s population increased by over 8% between 2010 and 2015. Of the communities in Carver County, the City of Victoria was recently ranked as the 4th fastest growing city in Minnesota with a growth rate of 12.81%, according to HomeSnacks. Victoria’s population is currently at 7,845, up from 6,954 in 2010. With 24 parks, 12 lakes, miles of trails to hike or bike, and a community that offers lots of amenities and activities, it’s easy to see why Victoria has become such a desirable place to live.
